A few years ago, Gunn Meyerhoff Shay completed the Martha B. Fay Health Center, a LEED Gold building for the Chatham County Health Department. Because of the success of the facility, it was a no-brainer that the firm would be selected to design and deliver the Department’s next project: the renovation and redesign of its crucial mid-town facility on Drayton Street near Forsyth Park.

The facility was designed to have a much simpler and easy to navigate corridor system, along with a spacious, comfortable lobby. In the administration area, many services have been consolidated and organized into an orderly layout, such as the medical records and the administrative office suite. This will be one of the best facilities in the area and a place where citizens can get information, education, and healing.
